What you learn in a white card course

What will I Learn?



• Hazard identification, risk assessment and control

• WHS communication and reporting procedures

• Incident and emergency response procedures

• Current construction procedures including understanding commonly used signage and correct use of PPE

All White Card Courses Require You to:

• Be at least 14 years old

• Be able to supply 100 points of original identification (EOI)

• Be able to supply a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number

• Be capable of being assessed in the English language

• Be able to speak and recognise numbers

• Be capable of completing a basic form

• Wear enclosed shoes to your course

• Complete the Enrolment Application Form ahead of starting your course

How Will I be Trained and Assessed?


Students will be taught through practical demonstrations, practical learning activities, group discussions and educational games.

Students will also need to successfully complete an assessment that will test their:

   • Verbal communication skills

   • Knowledge

   • Practical skills

Training will take place over the course of the day with a Safework NSW assessment being undertaken towards the end of the day.

What do I get when I finish a white card course

On Successful Completion of the Course, Students Will Receive:


• A Statement of Attainment (nationally recognised certification)

• A Statement of Training (this is required by Safework NSW and can be used as an interim white card for 60 days while you wait for your physical card to be sent to you)

What do I bring to the White Card Course?


• 100 points of approved identification (this is required to be able to start the course. Please let us know asap if you have a problem with this, as there may be other options available)

• Enclosed shoes (protective footwear is not required)

• A sun hat for outdoor training activities is highly recommended

• Your amazing self. We believe every person has something special to embrace

How to Book into the General Construction Induction White Card Course

Step 1

Enter your personal details, email address and phone number. Please make sure these are correct as we will use this to contact you

You will receive a booking confirmation email as soon as you book. Complete the application form within 48 hours of booking

Step 6

Review the Study Guide included in your confirmation email and arrive 15 minutes early on the day of your course
