TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck

This service allows for mixed mode delivery where a student can complete the knowledge and calculations component of their training and assessment through an online platform and then complete their practical training and assessment over a series of face-to-face sessions.

This service suits both novice and experienced operators who are capable of completing self-directed training and assessment tasks prior to commencing face-to-face training and assessment sessions. This course mode is ideal for people who need flexibility to meet work or home commitments. To be considered for this course you must:

·       Be capable of completing theory-based training and assessment tasks independently

·       Possess average literacy and numeracy skills

·       Possess average digital skills

·       Have access to a device to complete assigned tasks online (ideally a computer but a tablet will be acceptable. A mobile phone may be unsuitable for some people)

·       Have reliable internet access

·       Complete the Blended Delivery Course Application Form in addition to the Enrolment Application Form

The online component will take an average of 5.5 hours to complete and must be finalised a minimum of 48 hours prior to commencing face-to-face practical training. Practical training will consist of a 2.5 hour session on day one and a 2.5 hour session on day two. Students will then undergo a licencing assessment on day three (session times can not be guaranteed for day three.) This will be scheduled on either a Monday to Wednesday or on a Wednesday to Friday.

This Service Covers training and assessment of:

·        Practical training conducted on two different counterbalance forklifts (Tuggerah site only)

·        Legal responsibilities

·        Planning and preparing the work

·        Pre-operational and start-up checks of the forklift truck

·        Familiarisation with the operating functions and controls on a forklift truck

·        General load shifting functions at various heights and manoeuvring techniques

·        Shutdown procedures

A written and calculations assessment will be assigned through an online platform and practical training and assessment will occur over the first two days. A licencing assessment will be conducted on the third day.

Both Assessments Consists of a:

-Theory assessment
-Calculations assessment (minimal, basic calculations with the aid of a calculator)
-Practical Assessment

This assessment can be conducted on your work site or at our training and assessment facility located in Tuggerah.

The cost for this service is $490.00 per person (with an additional $77-subject to CPI- licencing application fee payable to the Post Office upon successful completion.)
